BioAg received a “You Beauty!..thanks for your support” presentation from AgRecovery, this month in celebration of the rural recycling programme’s 1st Birthday.

This is the equation that drives the owners of Kokako Vineyard in Ohiti valley in Hawke’s Bay.  The man changed with the responsibility to make this a reality is Vineyard Manager Bruce Nimon.  Bruce followed up horticultural education at Massey University with viticulture and winemaking at EIT in Hawke’s Bay.  In 1999 he established Lucknow Vineyard from scratch.  He sold his 15ha property in 2007 and now runs the 90ha Kokako operation which is a mixed varietals vineyard growing for Delegats and Villa Maria.

Brothers Tom and Harry Masterson are partners in Green Planet Ltd.

They own and lease a number of organic apple orchards in Hawke’s Bay and also run a substantial apple packing operation.  They registered with Bio-Gro in 1998.  “I felt the writing was on the wall for conventional apple growing and that organic offered us the brighter future” Tom says.
